Counseling

Counseling Department

At MVCSC, our goal is to engage, educate and empower our students. At MES, our students are introduced to monthly classroom lessons encouraging positive character traits such as Respect, Responsibility, Caring, Fairness, Citizenship, and Trustworthiness. As part of that curriculum, students are also introduced to the concept of service work. Our students have many opportunities to learn and grow in these areas.  The lessons that are taught in our building are reinforced as they enter each new grade level.

The MES counselor also works with students in groups and individually to address listening and social skills, classroom readiness, behavior, social anxiety, divorce, friendship issues and other areas of concern as needed. Working closely with parents, staff and classroom teachers, they are able to focus on specific needs of MES students and work toward students that are healthy and happy socially, academically and emotionally.

Second Step Home Links
Parents, please partner with us as we focus on our social and emotional learning together. The scope and sequence for the Second Step program can be found HERE. FES students learn these social emotional lessons during community time during the first 10 minutes of the school day. Families may access Second Step activities to complete with their child/children through "Home Links" that teachers provided. If you have lost your home link, please contact Mrs. Price for another copy.
