Dear MES Families,
WE begin wrapping up ILEARN next week for grade 3-5. Our students and staff have been real troopers! May 5-9 is teacher/staff appreciation week! It is always nice when our staff receive a nice note or a message!

This week was the last week to check out Library books. All books are due on your student’s library day next week. Lost book fees can be paid via MVCSC’s eFunds link. Click on PAY for Optional Fees, then choose Lost/Damaged Library Books. Exact change and/or a check made out to McCordsville Elementary are also accepted. Thank you for your support in returning overdue books and paying library fines before the end of the school year.
Two of our students received the HOPE Award through the MV Education Foundation. This award Honors Outstanding Personal Excellence and is teacher nominated.
Congratulations to Kiera Dove and Noelle Slinkard. Their awards were given by Mrs DeVries and Mrs Braun.
Next week is Teacher & Staff Appreciation week. Here are some fun ideas for ways students/families can participate.
Monday 5th - Friday 9th May 2025
Please have your student check the lost and found if they are missing any items, or feel free to come and take a look yourself. Our lost and found continues to keep growing. Everything will be donated at the end of the school year.
If your student will be absent from school, please notify us by one of the following methods:

If your child is going to be absent for a trip etc., there is no need to fill out the pre-arranged excused absence form. Due to the new Indiana attendance laws the form no longer applies.
Drop Off & Pick Up Procedures
If you are bringing your child to school in the morning, please drop off your child at the front drop off area beginning at 7:20am.
Please enter school grounds via the back entrance on 700N. Pull all the way around and there will be staff to direct you to pull forward. They will also be there to assist your child out of the car. Parents should not get out of the car.
AM Only - When exiting the school, you may only head North (turn right) on 600W.
Please remember that you must come in to sign a student in and out of school if it is after 7:45am or before 2:15pm. They could be considered tardy if this procedure is not followed.
For pick up, the back gate opens at 1:30pm. Do not park on the grass or public roadway on 700N. We use a number system to make sure students are safe.
Please display car rider numbers during pick up.
Remain in line until you are at the end of the car rider line. Do not pull around cars.
Pull over at the end of the line if you need to buckle in your child.
Please try to let the office know of any dismissal changes no later than 1:30pm, unless there is an emergency.
