A message from the Principal

Dear MES Families,

Our students are doing a great job earning their doubloons! So far we have had 20+ students earn a book from the vending machine!
New this year for our Student of the Month earners....They will bring home a fun yard sign for you to display!
Thank you for signing up for our Fun Run Boosterthon! We are halfway to our goal!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Stephanie

News from the Library

Please ask your student(s) what day they visit the library! We have several students forgetting library books, and while we have books for those students to read while in the library, not returning books means they cannot check out new books. Having a designated spot for library books at home is also a great idea so they don’t get lost. Thank you for all you do to create a love of reading at home!

Pirate Fun Run

McCordsville Elementary School Families!

It is time to rally together for our Pirate Fun Run fundraiser! Our goal is to raise $22,000 for student programming, student materials, our S.A.I.L. initiative, teacher training, and teacher support overall, which will enhance our school’s resources and provide our students with an even better educational experience.

To make things even more exciting, if we raise $22,000, Mrs. Miller and Mr. Edwards will KISS A PIG at a convocation!

Outside Food and Treats

As per the MVCSC Handbook:

No homemade food items may be sent in for parties or celebrations. All items must be store bought and sealed.

Students should not bring or have food from restaurants (e.g., McDonald's, Subway, etc.) delivered or dropped off during school hours. This includes for birthdays, lunches, or special occasions.

These practices help maintain safety for students with food allergies and promote a consistent school environment.

Lost and Found

Please continue to check our lost and found if your child is missing anything. It's continuing to grow!
At the end of every quarter, all items will be donated.

Thank you

Snacks

Please remember to send your child in with a snack and water bottle everyday.

Thank you!

Reminder - Drop off and Pick up Procedures

If you are bringing your child to school in the morning, please drop off your child at the front drop off area beginning at 7:10 a.m.

Please enter school grounds via the back entrance on 700N. Pull all the way around and there will be staff to direct you to pull forward. They will also be there to assist your child out of the car. Parents should not get out of the car.

AM Only - When exiting the school, you may only head North (turn right) on 600W.

Please remember that you must come in to sign a student in and out of school if it is after 7:35 am or before 2:05 pm. They could be considered tardy if this procedure is not followed.

The back gate opens at 1:30 for pick-up. Do not park on the grass or anywhere on 700N. We use a cone/number system to make sure students are safe.

Please display car rider numbers during pick up.

Remain in line until you are at the end of the car rider line. Do not pull around cars.

Pull over at the end of the line if you need to buckle in your child.

Please try to let the office know of any dismissal changes no later than 1:30pm, unless there is an emergency.

 Please follow all procedures.

Thank you.

REMINDER:  Students are considered TARDY if they are not in their classroom at 7:35 a.m.
