Dear MES Families,
We’ve officially reached the end of Quarter 1! What an incredible first nine weeks it has been at our school! Our S.A.I.L. program has been a huge success, with more than 150 students earning a book! A big thank-you to our amazing PTO for their continued support of this program and for all the fun, encouraging, and exciting things they do for our school community.

The Young Hoosier Book Award (YHBA) is an annual award given by the Indiana Library Federation to encourage reading among children in elementary and middle school. This week students were introduced to several books from that list. Click here to view a list of those books to look for next time you head out to the library!
Today is your LAST CHANCE to pick up any lost and found. It will all be donated during Fall Break. The school office will close at 3pm today.

When we return after break, please remember to send your child in with a water and snack daily. We have limited supply and won't always have spare snacks.

If you are bringing your child to school in the morning, please drop off your child at the front drop off area beginning at 7:10 a.m.
Please enter school grounds via the back entrance on 700N. Pull all the way around and there will be staff to direct you to pull forward. They will also be there to assist your child out of the car. Parents should not get out of the car.
AM Only - When exiting the school, you may only head North (turn right) on 600W.
Please remember that you must come in to sign a student in and out of school if it is after 7:35 am or before 2:05 pm. They could be considered tardy if this procedure is not followed.
The back gate opens at 1:30 for pick-up. Do not park on the grass or anywhere on 700N. We use a cone/number system to make sure students are safe.
Please display car rider numbers during pick up.
Remain in line until you are at the end of the car rider line. Do not pull around cars.
Pull over at the end of the line if you need to buckle in your child.
Please try to let the office know of any dismissal changes no later than 1:30pm, unless there is an emergency.
Please follow all procedures.

REMINDER: Students are considered TARDY if they are not in their classroom at 7:35 a.m.
